Historic England – heritage data business process mapping

We are working with GeoData, University of Southampton to conduct a business process mapping exercise for Historic England.  This fascinating project is considering all aspects of heritage data management across the organisation from archaeological finds, geophysics surveys, designation process, scientific dating, marine heritage and the National Mapping Programme and we are making recommendations for improved workflows and procedures. The work involves consultation with data managers and users across different teams within Historic England and builds on our existing work in this sector for National Trust for Scotland and of business analysis within asset data management.
